Progress

So, my stroppy 7yr old broke my laptop and got punishments to last a lifetime. He is now bagging up beads for his sins! The result is that I now have a snazzy new notebook (do they even SAY laptop anymore?! ;-D ) So maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Just best not tell him that!

I am trying to get used to windows 8 and hoping this is going to make business 'stuff' easier. I already managed to print a document from it. In case you haven't realised I am seriously technologically knowledge impaired. Try saying that when you've had a few! ;-) lol!

Sadly, this has also had an impact on our website plans. I've had to put that idea on hold for now. I am however, going to update the albums on the facebook Beadysmyth page. I am hoping that potential customers will be happy to message me a list of codes. I say that because facebook notifications are not great.

Talking of facebook, I am pretty frustrated at how they have started to bully us into 'paying to be seen'. I know we all expected it to happen in the end.  Right from day one, we were in panic about when, (not if), facebook would start trying to get us paying for the service. We all vowed we would leave if it ever came true, (such sad, addicted, liars we turned out to be!) I find myself contemplating paying for my events to be 'seen'. I have even asked the question on my personal profile 'Does it work?' and got a mixed response, that leaves me thinking I would have to try it to find out.  Thing is, if they could actually deliver all of my notifications, especially those on my page photo's, I would be a lot more willing to try it out. It doesn't exactly fill you with confidence.

The new invoicing system is working well for us on the whole and it has given my confidence in our business a real boost. Something so simple has made everything a million times easier. Why,oh why didn't we use it before?! It's going to take a while to get all our products in the system,so things are not as quick as they will be YET. I am grateful I have such patient customers. Some of you have been with us from the start, way back when we were jewellerysmyth. It has been quite a journey!

We are enjoying the sale events every weekend. We have decided to move them to Fridays so we can have the whole weekend to get the invoices sent out and orders packed up. It keeps us very busy. I will explain the process so you can get an idea of how hard we are working to get your orders packed up as quickly and accurately as we can.

Tim takes the photos, adds codes to the items and loads them onto the event. Liam takes note of your comment and then we get your orders bagged up by visiting each photo in the sale, then they get checked against the packing slip which is included in your parcel. Your invoice is then sent for you to check over. If all is as should be, your parcel is sealed, addressed and posted first class recorded (for UK orders).  Wow! I have just made that sound incredibly simple! Haha! Honestly, we do work hard and want to give you the very best in quality, price and service.

So, it's onwards and upwards we go! Words can't express how grateful we are to all our customers and their feedback, good bad and plain old ugly. We take it on the chin and try harder.  Our beady best!

Thank you and we hope to see you soon <3
