A small caring family team, working hard to bring you the beady best in value, quality and choice.

How it all started

Way back in 2006 I mentioned to my husband that I had always fancied making jewellery. That Christmas I woke up on Christmas morning to be greet by hundreds of little parcels. In each (very well wrapped) parcel there was a string of semi precious beads. I was amazed, dumbfounded, lost for words!
I didn't  know much about the stones then. I knew rose quartz and tigers eye and amethyst. That was about it.
My love for semi precious stones started much earlier. It started with my dad. He worked on sand and gravel dredgers and had brought home some stones he'd had shaped and polished ready to be set into jewellery. Malachite. Gorgeous! I remember the tigers eye bracelets he gave my mum and I. I still have mine. Such treasure!
So, there I was, bleary eyed early on a Christmas morning, surrounded by beads and wondering what to do with them. Feeling a bit panicked and raring to have a go at mixing them up, stringing them and wearing them. I bought a book and some magazines about jewellery making as soon as I could and I got some head pins crimps, clasps and tiger tail. It wasn't long before I had made my first necklace. Earrings were trickier to master but it was true. I LOVED making jewellery as much as I thought I would.
I started showing some other people my makes online and some people were so impressed, they wanted to buy a set. I was getting a long list of orders. I hadn't expected that. I realised I could make a business out of it and for a long time I was happy making and selling my creations.
I was very happy with the prices of my semi precious stones. Tim worked long and hard to find this supplier and we have stayed loyal to him. We always buy our semi precious beads from India. They are the best!
I was a bit disappointed to find the UK selection expensive and limited. I had way more beads here than I needed so I decided to sell some on facebook. Soon I was busier than I could manage! It was a steep learning but we have worked hard to perfect the art of selling beads.
I still make jewellery and I have recently started to use polymer clay too.
These day my house is stuffed full of beads. They have taken over our house and our lives but, we are proud to say we are not greedy, we offer things at fabulous prices, because we believe everyone should be able to get something out of it.
We are working hard to be the beady best.
Thank you to all our supporters. Without you, of course, we would have nothing.
